A solar rooftop system consists of various parts that combine to produce useful electricity from sunshine.

The following are some of the parts of a rooftop solar system:

  • solar cells and panels
  • PV inverter
  • structures for installing solar panels
  • wires for AC and DC
  • the AC combiner box
  • Box for DC combining
  • conductive cables
  • connectors MC4

The idea behind a solar rooftop system is the transformation of sunlight into power. The photovoltaic effect is the name of the phenomenon. Sunlight is transformed into electricity when it strikes the PV cells in a solar panel. The electricity produced is DC current. This DC power is transformed into usable AC power using an AC combiner box.

The bidirectional meter that powers the dwelling receives the generated AC electricity. If the electricity produced by the rooftop solar system is not sufficient to meet the daily requirement, it also exports excess power to the DISCOM (grid) and imports power from the grid.

Now that the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) has been introduced, the subsidy application process has become much easier.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

  • Visit the National Portal for Rooftop Solar website.
  • Download the Sandes app from the website and install it.
  • Register as a customer on the Sandes app.
  • Once registered, a discom official will visit your home to assess technical feasibility.
  • After receiving the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the official, choose RedStar Solar as your solar installation company.
  • Discuss the project details with us and sign an agreement.Upon receiving payment, we will commence the installation process.
  • We will then provide a work completion report and apply for a net meter installation on your behalf.
  • After finishing, you’ll get a commissioning certificate.
  • Use the National Portal for Rooftop Solar to enter your bank account details and upload a copy of a voided cheque.
  • Within 30 days of the fund handling organization receiving your information, the subsidy will be credited to your bank account.
